Fixation

These aids serve as an intermediate step, a light fixation, where there is still limited freedom of movement.

The person can be lightly fixed by various aids, still have a reasonable amount of freedom of movement, but cannot get out of bed. This prevents exposure, falling out of bed, self-mutilation , pulling incontinence material apart and unwanted getting out of bed.

A nice balance between protection and maintaining freedom of movement.
Gives a safe and soothing feeling for the person and the carer.
